We are excited to partner with a well-known organisation and recognised leader in their industry to source an experienced Senior Data Scientist, based locally in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-impact data team and play a key role in rolling out advanced Machine Learning initiatives across a complex, fast-paced commercial environment.

The Opportunity
n
Our client is a leader in their industry and is investing heavily in data science and AI to drive smarter, faster decision-making across the organisation. As part of this investment, they're looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to build and deploy scalable ML solutions using Azure ML and MLOps frameworks.
n
You'll work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify high-value use cases, develop and iterate on ML prototypes, and deliver production-ready models that create measurable business outcomes.
n
The Role
n
n
Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end ML models using Azure ML, Pipelines, and Data Factory
n
Build quick proof-of-concepts to demonstrate feasibility and refine solutions for production
n
Collaborate with stakeholders across commercial and technical teams to identify and prioritise business problems that can be solved with ML
n
Own the entire ML lifecycle from data preprocessing and feature engineering through to deployment, monitoring, and retraining
n
Implement scalable MLOps strategies including CI/CD,



performance tracking, drift detection, and automated retraining
n
Work cross-functionally with data engineers and software developers to embed models into production systems
n
Champion ML best practices and reusable workflows across the broader team
n
n
The Skills Required
n
n
5+ years of hands-on experience in data science and ML model development
n
Expertise in Azure ML and MLOps, with strong capability in feature engineering, model evaluation, and deployment
n
Proven experience developing and iterating on ML prototypes to quickly validate business value
n
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines for ML and real-world deployment strategies
n
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
n
Previous experience in FMCG or supply chain industries are highly desirable
n
Familiarity with recommendation systems, time-series forecasting or geospatial analytics is a bonus
n
A collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment
n
