ROLE – Lead Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace)

SALARY - $150,000 - $160,000 per annum, dependent on experience
n
TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Brisbane, QLD
n
My client is a specialist, high‐tech manufacturer in the Aerospace industry. They are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in the Brisbane area on a permanent basis.
n
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
n
n
At least 8-10 years of experience in Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering
n
Have a strong background in Structural Design and Engineering across Aerospace, Aviation, Space, Motorsport or a similar industry
n
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
n
Strong experience designing complex mechanical systems and structures
n
Highly proficient with 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks or similar
n
Strong knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance analysis, DFM, DFA and engineering best practices
n
Experience performing hand calculations, FEA, verification, validation, testing and root cause analysis
n
Familiar with relevant Aerospace standards and certification requirements
n




Proven experience delivering products from concept through to manufacture and qualification
n
Solid leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring junior engineers
n
n
The Lead Mechanical Engineer role will involve:
n
n
Leading the mechanical design and development of aerospace systems and components
n
Managing a small team of Mechanical Engineers
n
Producing detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
n
Conducting engineering analysis including tolerance studies, FEA and design verification
n
Managing the full product development lifecycle from concept through to production and qualification
n
Collaborating closely with manufacturing, quality, systems and project engineering teams
n
Supporting prototype builds, testing, integration and validation activities
n
Reviewing and approving engineering drawings, calculations and design changes
n
Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement across projects
n
