Position Overview
n
An experienced Safety and Training Coordinator is required to support underground mining operations by driving safety performance and workforce capability. This role coordinates training, ensures compliance, and promotes a strong safety culture across the site.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Coordinate and maintain site training systems and compliance records
n
Schedule and track mandatory training, VOCs, and refresher requirements
n
Deliver site inductions and support onboarding processes
n
Assist in the development and implementation of training programs
n
Support supervisors with competency management and workforce development
n
Monitor compliance with statutory requirements and company standards
n
Participate in audits, inspections, and safety initiatives
n
Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
n
Maintain accurate training matrices and documentation
n
Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
Experience in a Safety and Training role within underground mining
n
Solid understanding of mining safety systems and compliance requirements
n
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
n




Experience using learning management or training systems
n
Strong administrative and organisational skills
n
Ability to engage and communicate effectively across all levels
n
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
n
Valid driver's licence
n
Ability to work FIFO roster (e.g. 2/2 or 8/6)
n
