Fixed Term Part Time (0.8 FTE, 64 hrs/fortnight) position available to cover parental leave from 8 July ********* April ****.
n
Consultant Year 1-9: $412,161 - $523,436 per annum (pro rata).
n
Inclusive of base salary, PD allowance and 12% superannuation.

About the role
n
As a Consultant Paediatrician, you'll provide a high standard of evidence based paediatric clinical care to in-patient, outpatient and community based developmental services for Outstanding Southern patients.
n
Albany Health Campus manages approximately 6,500 paediatric Emergency Department presentations each year, resulting in around 1,200 admissions, alongside approximately 500 births annually.
n
You'll join a highly motivated and friendly team delivering high-quality paediatric care to the region.
n
The roster is lifestyle-friendly, with on-call responsibilities shared across 5 consultants and supported by a senior paediatric registrar.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Provide comprehensive clinical care of general paediatric, neonatal and developmental patients within the Great Southern region
n
Work within a multidisciplinary paediatric team delivering integrated care across the Great Southern region
n
Provide clinical leadership in service development, quality improvement, and patient safety
n
Supervise, mentor, and educate GPs, registrars, junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff
n
Participate in on-call/after-hours rosters while engaging in CPD, training, research, and stakeholder collaboration
n
Hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia without restrictions
n
Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health) or equivalent that is recognised for registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia
n
Demonstrated clinical experience in paediatric patient management including acute care, neonatal care, ambulatory care, child protection and developmental and behavioural paediatrics
n

Please note: this position does not have capacity to support supervision for trainees or SIMGs.
n
Candidates must be able to practise independently without clinical supervision.
n
