With a solid reputation across the rail infrastructure sector, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team and play a key role in securing and delivering landmark projects across the country.
n
This is an opportunity to work within a high-performing pre-contracts team on large-scale civil infrastructure tenders where you will be contributing to projects from concept through to award.

The Opportunity
n
Reporting to the Pre-Contracts Manager, the Senior Estimator will lead and coordinate estimating activities across major infrastructure bids, ensuring competitive, accurate, and commercially sound submissions.
n
You will work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and commercial teams to develop robust pricing strategies and methodologies for complex projects across the rail infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities
n

Lead end-to-end estimating activities for major civil infrastructure tenders
n
Prepare detailed first-principles estimates, cost plans, and pricing strategies
n
Analyse drawings, specifications, methodologies, and contractual
requirementsCoordinate
subcontractor and supplier pricing submissions
n
Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering initiatives
n
Develop construction methodologies and staging assumptions in collaboration with delivery teams
n
Participate in tender reviews, adjudications, and client presentations
n
Maintain estimating databases, benchmarks, and cost histories
n
Mentor and support junior estimators within the team
n
n
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
n
n
Extensive estimating experience within major civil infrastructure projects
n
Strong background across large-scale projects such as rail, transport, roads, bridges, or utilities
n
Proven capability preparing complex multi-disciplinary tenders in a major projects environment
n
High-level understanding of construction methodologies, productivity rates, and commercial drivers
n
Experience with first-principles estimating and estimating software platforms
n
Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
n
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent tender
n
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
