Visy Logistics, based in Laverton North, is seeking an
experiencedTransport
Managerto lead our fleet operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee support staff, drivers, fleet, and equipment. You'll bring a sharp operational mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.

You'll be responsible for maintaining high customer service standards, meeting budget targets, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance across all areas. A strong financial acumen is essential, as you'll be expected to manage budgets, analyse cost drivers, and contribute to strategic financial decisions that impact operational performance.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Lead and manage daily operations across fleet and logistics teams
n
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
n
Drive productivity and profitability through innovative solutions
n
Maintain high service levels and customer satisfaction
n
Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L; performance
n
Develop and mentor team members, fostering a high-performance culture
n
n
What you will bring:
n
n
Prior experience in a similar transport or logistics managerial position
n
Experience in steel & heavy haulage transport operations is highly advantageous
n
Solid people management and customer engagement skills
n
Demonstrated ability to manage fleet productivity and logistics KPIs
n




Solid financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, or P&L; management
n
Knowledge of fatigue management, load restraint, and mass management
n
Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S; as well as experience in SAP, WMS & TMS systems
n
