Senior Credit Manager | Residential Lending

A growing non-bank lender is looking for an experienced Senior Credit Manager to join their team in Melbourne. This is a key role for someone who understands residential lending inside and out, with a strong track record in the non-bank lending space.

About the Role
n
You'll be responsible for credit assessment, risk management, and decisioning across the residential lending portfolio, working closely with sales, operations, and senior leadership to ensure sound, commercially balanced credit outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Assess and approve residential lending applications within delegated authority
n
Review complex credit submissions and provide explicit, well-reasoned recommendations
n
Manage credit risk across the residential loan book, identifying and mitigating exposure
n
Develop and refine credit policy, procedures, and lending guidelines
n
Mentor and support credit and lending team members
n
Liaise with brokers, introducers, and internal stakeholders on complex deals
n




Monitor portfolio performance and report on credit quality and trends
n
Ensure compliance with responsible lending obligations and internal risk frameworks
n

What We're Looking For
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience in residential lending, with direct exposure to the non-bank / private lending sector
n
Strong credit assessment and risk analysis skills, including complex and non-conforming deals
n
Sound understanding of responsible lending obligations and regulatory requirements
n
Excellent judgement, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously
n
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain credit decisions clear to brokers and stakeholders
n
Experience mentoring or leading junior credit staff (highly regarded)
n
