A Outback QLD hospital requires a Senior Medical Officer in General Practice from 22/06/2026 to 02/01/2027.

General Practice Duties
n
n
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
n
One-hour lunch break daily
n
Best Practice clinical software
n
Dedicated full time administration and nursing support staff
n
n
Hospital Duties
n
n
Participation in the daily morning scrum at 8:00 am
n
Morning ward rounds
n
Coverage of Emergency Department, inpatient wards, and outpatient clinics as required
n

This hospital has 24 beds and provides 24 hour acute and emergency care, including maternity and theatre services. Community and Allied Health Services are available including:



cardiology clinic, alcohol and drugs, child development, diabetes education, dental, mental health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology, Antenatal clinics are provided.

With a population of around 3,500 it is the base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of Distance Education. The town is also home to a Cosmos Centre, which houses an observatory perfect for viewing the Milky Way Galaxy.
n
Accommodation will be provided in a self contained non sharing fully furnished unit and a car to use after hours. Duties will include working as per the local roster and sharing the after hours on call. Flights from Brisbane are through Rex Airlines only.
