About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in Big 4 or mid-tier audit firms to join our growing finance team.
n
This role is ideal for a qualified accounting professional who wants to transition their audit expertise into a commercial finance environment while working with an Australian business.
n
You will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end processes, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives while collaborating with stakeholders across Australia.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and IFRS.
n
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
n
Support and lead external audit processes, acting as a key point of contact for auditors.
n
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, tax obligations, and internal controls.
n
Provide technical accounting support and guidance on complex accounting matters.
n
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities.
n
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
n




Collaborate with internal teams and Australian stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
n
Mentor and support junior accounting team members.
n

Skills & Experience
n
n
Chartered Accountant or equivalent ((ie. ACCA, ICAA, ACA), required.
n
Minimum 4+ years of accounting experience, including experience in audit within a Big 4 or reputable mid-tier accounting firm.
n
Robust understanding of AASB and IFRS standards.
n
Experience preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements.
n
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
n
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
n
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
n
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms is an advantage.
n
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
n
Experience supporting Australian clients or exposure to Australian accounting standards is highly desirable.
