Associate - Power Engineering
n
Join Beca's Power team as an Associate Power Engineer. This role supports high‐value projects across Australasia, from traditional HV transmission to infrastructure and industrial projects.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the technical delivery of primary/HV projects from feasibility, concept designs, detail designs, and owner's engineer stages.
n
Develop, mentor, and lead junior engineers.
n
Lead the primary design of high‐voltage substations and other related infrastructure.
n
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports.
n
Lead teams of engineers to undertake large packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff.
n
Provide concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings, etc.
n
Maintain current design standards as set by statutory requirements.
n
Carry out quality checks and procedures.
n
Offer high‐quality technical advice to our clients and collaborate across business lines.
n
Support strategic bids and tenders for future energy projects across ANZ.
n

Qualifications
n
n
Proven senior engineering experience in power infrastructure (HV/EHV transmission, distribution, or traction).
n




Experience in substation primary engineering for HV/EHV substations (up to 500 kV ideally).
n
Solid electronic design and electrical engineering fundamentals.
n
Proficiency with engineering software and design tools.
n
Organised, adaptable, and able to think outside the box.
n
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship skills.
n
Effective communication with ability to explain complex issues.
n
Results‐oriented with solid project delivery experience in transmission, distribution, or rail traction power.
n
Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
