About Simpson Health Centre
n
Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD). Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. The Army base services approximately **** Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7. The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:*******:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

This role is full time Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

What you'll do
n
n
Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members
n
Conductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
n
Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions
n
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount
n
n
What you bring
n
n
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
n
One of the following:
n
ACMHN credentialed
n
Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
n
Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
n
Minimum two years' Post RN general registration experience within last five yearsin mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
n
Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' as per Medicare Schedule
n
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
n
Australian
Citizenshiprequired
to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
n
Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
n
