Overview

FLSmidth is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Service Centre Manager to lead the operational and financial performance of our Service Centre operations on the East Coast of Australia.
n
Based in Mackay or Newcastle, the role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient and customer-focused service operations while driving sustainable business growth across workshop, field service and aftermarket activities.
n
Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders, you will ensure operational excellence, develop high‐performing teams and expand our service presence throughout the region.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead all Service Centre operations, including workshop activities, field service, inventory management and logistics.
n
Drive financial performance by achieving revenue, profitability and cost management targets.
n
Develop, coach and lead a high‐performing team, fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
n
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to maximise customer satisfaction, retention and aftermarket growth.
n
Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand service offerings and market share across the East Coast.
n
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards and all health, safety and environmental requirements.
n
Monitor operational KPIs, analyse performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
n
Partner with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain and other internal teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
n
Optimise resource utilisation, including workforce planning, equipment and facilities management.
n
Prepare and manage annual operating budgets, forecasts and business plans.
n

Qualifications & Experience
n
n
Proven leadership experience managing service operations within mining, heavy machinery, industrial equipment or a related industry.
n
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in driving revenue growth,



profitability and operational performance.
n
Sound understanding of workshop management, field service operations, inventory control and logistics.
n
Excellent leadership, coaching and people management skills.
n
Robust communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
n
Experience using ERP systems and business management software (SAP experience advantageous).
n
Demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental compliance.
n
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline preferred.
n
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the East Coast of Australia.
