Job Description
Our client, an industry-leading EPC, is seeking a skilled and motivated Secondary Systems Electrical Engineer to join their NSW Engineering team. Specializing in utility-scale projects across NSW, QLD, and SA, their focus lies in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for transmission and substation projects. This includes secondary engineering disciplines such as protection and control, SCADA, substation auxiliary systems, and associated electrical studies.

This role will be based in their Sydney office, offering hybrid work arrangements with occasional client and site visits. You'll join a collaborative in-house engineering team that thrives on technical innovation and excellence, contributing to primary design and construction delivery.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Deliver and contribute to secondary systems engineering for utility-scale transmission and substation projects.
n
Perform and review electrical studies: earthing, lighting, lightning, LV systems, and cable calculations.
n
Develop and review protection and control philosophies, protection settings, and associated documentation.
n
Support SCADA, automation, and communication interfaces for substations.
n
Ensure designs comply with Transgrid standards, Australian Standards, and regulatory requirements.
n
Collaborate with primary engineers, design partners, and project teams to ensure coordinated and successful project delivery.
n
Provide technical engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
n
A degree in Electrical Engineering (or an equivalent qualification).
n
Proven experience in secondary systems, protection and control, SCADA, or substation electrical studies.
n
Familiarity with HV/LV substation environments and knowledge of regulated utility standards.
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving proficiency.
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
n
n
Experience in the following will be highly regarded:
n
n
Working with Transgrid or other Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs).
n
Protection relay programming, configuration, or testing.
n
SCADA and automation system integration expertise.
n
n
