Senior Business Analyst – Department of Customer Service (DCS)

Location: Sydney, NSW (McKell site)

Employment type: Full‐time, ongoing
n Salary: $129,464 – $142,665 plus superannuation
n Grade: Clerk 9/10

Overview
n
The DCS ICT Category Management team shapes how NSW Government procures and manages technology. This role supports category strategy, contract stewardship, and supplier governance across major ICT agreements.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Analyse supplier spend and billing data, including validating charges against contract terms.
n
Identify trends, risks and opportunities across suppliers and ICT categories.
n
Support pricing reviews and commercial evaluations for ICT All of Government Agreements.
n
Develop and maintain dashboards (e.g., PowerBI) to provide visibility of supplier performance, spend and benefits.
n
Consolidate and interpret data from multiple suppliers into a single, clear view for decision making.
n
Track, monitor and report on benefits realised through category strategies and agreements.
n
Translate business questions into structured analysis for category teams.
n
Identify and implement opportunities to improve and automate recurring processes.
n
Provide clear,
practical advice to stakeholders based on analysis, highlighting issues and recommended actions.

Qualifications & Experience
n
n
Strong analytical capability with experience working with complex, multi‐source datasets.
n
Experience in financial, pricing or commercial data (e.g., billing, rates, contracts, supplier data).
n
Ability to quickly understand context (contracts, pricing structures, supplier arrangements) and translate data into actionable insights.
n
Proficient in building dashboards and visualisations (PowerBI or similar).
n
Experience improving or automating processes using digital tools (e.g., PowerAutomate).
n
Robust stakeholder and communication skills, able to explain insights in plain English.
n
Capability to work across multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast‐paced environment.
