Principal Cyber Advisor (EL2 Equivalent) – Federal Government | TSPV Required | Canberra

A major national security agency is seeking Principal Cyber Advisors to strengthen its security posture across complex ICT environments. This is a high-impact role for senior practitioners who can shape secure by design architectures, uplift assurance frameworks, and guide mission-critical systems through accreditation.

If you're an experienced cyber security leader with deep government experience and current TSPV, this is one of the most consequential opportunities in the market.

You will operate as a senior cyber advisor supporting secure ICT delivery across government systems. This role blends architecture, assurance, policy uplift and hands‐on‐risk analysis.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Leading reviews and contributing to the development of the full security documentation suite
n
Providing authoritative advice on secure‐by‐design principles and cyber best practice
n
Reviewing ICT solution designs for alignment with the ISM and Essential Eight maturity requirements
n
Guiding architecture and engineering teams to embed security controls into designs
n




Conducting cyber security and risk assessments across complex services
n
Updating and maintaining system security artefacts including:n
n
SRMPs
n
SSPs & Annexes
n
IRPs
n
DRPs
n
n
Supporting system accreditation and IRAP‐related documentation
n
n
Technical Capability:
n
n
Experience in Australian Government cyber security or security architecture roles
n
Demonstrated capability producing security artefacts for system authorisation
n
Solid understanding of networking infrastructure and modern network security patterns
n
Ability to analyse network architectures and assess cyber security risks
n
Deep familiarity with ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight and government accreditation processes
n
