Finance Manager (Contract) – Healthcare | CBD | Immediate Start

An opportunity exists for a technically strong Senior Accountant /Manager to join a growing healthcare organisation. This role is ideally suited to a 2nd mover from Big 4 / mid-tier audit who is immediately available and looking to step into a hands‐on industry role with solid technical exposure.
n
Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, supporting external audit requirements, and working through complex technical and historical accounting matters. This is a highly visible role where you will also contribute to strengthening financial controls, improving reporting processes, and supporting broader finance transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities
n
n
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
n
Support statutory financial statement preparation and year‐end reporting
n
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
n
Assist with quarterly bank and covenant reporting
n
Deliver accurate and timely management reporting for senior stakeholders.
n
Provide technical accounting support across a range of complex matters
n
Manage IFRS 16 lease accounting across multiple sites and facilities
n
Investigate and remediate historical accounting issues,
ensuring appropriate treatment and documentation
n
Support assessments relating to discontinued operations and structural changes
n
Contribute to the review and enhancement of accounting policies and processes
n
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
n
Act as a key liaison with external auditors during interim and year‐end audits
n
Manage audit queries and ensure timely resolution of issues
n
Support improvements to financial controls and governance frameworksReview and reconcile complex balance sheet accounts
n
Identify and resolve legacy accounting issues and discrepancies
n
Support process improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency
n
Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement projects
n
Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation processes.
n

Key Skills
n
n
CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
n
Big 4 / mid‐tier audit background strongly preferred
n
Senior auditor or 2nd mover currently in, or recently out of, audit
n
Robust technical accounting knowledge with IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards
n
Experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting
n
Exposure to external audit processes and statutory reporting
n
Strong balance sheet reconciliation and problem‐solving capability
n
Exposure to inventory accounting advantageous
n
Advanced Excel and strong attention to detail
n
Immediately available or on short notice preferred
n
