Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business or associated field (Desired)
n
Minimum 7 years experience in a business/system analyst role (Banking domain - Mandatory; anyone with Risk, Compliance & Legal experience will also be highly encouraged)
n
Project lifecycle experience (mandatory)
n
Experience in finance projects and understanding of the related functional aspects (mandatory)
n
Track record of working in a fast-paced collaborative cross-functional environment (desirable)
n
Proficiency in working with distributed teams (desirable)
n
n
Skills and experience
n
n
Ability to analyse customer requirements and provide innovative solutions or alternatives to meet those requirements.
n
Strong internal consultation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
n
Excellent presentation and communication skills
n
Advanced facilitation and workshop skills
n
Ability for both technical speak and business speak and able to translate one to another.
n
Advanced problem solving & troubleshooting skills; business research and analytical skills.
n
Strong SQL, Data Analysis and Data Profiling skills
n
Knowledge of Business Process Modelling and associated tools.
n
Familiarity with Data Modelling and Data Warehouse concepts
n
Understanding of Agile development practices.
n
Ability to cope with pressure, prioritise workloads and meet agreed timeframes
n
Good knowledge of Insurance/ Finance domain (Desired)
n
Knowledge of planning/ forecasting, data reporting visualisation platforms, e.g.: TM1/ Planning Analytics, Cognos, Tableau (Desired)

Knowledge and experience of JIRA & Confluence (Desired)

Objectives of the role
n
The role of the Business Analyst is to work collaboratively with T&T; teams and stakeholders to obtain, analyse, communicate, and validate requirements for Projects and other tasks as assigned by the Project or Iteration Manager of the Project.
n
The role sits within DET Corporate Functions and will work very closely with Project and Iteration Managers; Development and Testing teams; Product owners and stakeholders to ensure the group delivers consistently high-quality results aligned with Suncorp business objectives
n
Key Accountabilities
n
n
Support process of Business context and Requirements gathering
n
Support defining of MVPs; features/stories and perks
n
Facilitate elaborations sessions; attend and facilitate other workshops as necessary
n
Undertake technical analysis; define and document business logic; mapping and governance and success criteria
n
Document and deliver Project artefacts as required
n
Assist in estimating for Delivery Phase
n
Assist in development of flight plan and milestones.
n
Attend and contribute to agile ceremonies Iteration Planning/Stand-up
meetings/Retrospectives/Showcases
n
Proactively identify RAIDS (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
n
Support development and testing team in understanding of requirements
n
Support test planning and execution
n
Contribute to Knowledge Transfer as required during and after delivery of project
n
Identify and call out improvement opportunities for project delivery
n
Perform other duties as necessary during delivery of project and as assigned by Project/Iteration manager
n
Work collaboratively maintaining ongoing dialogue and relationships with Stakeholders as part of continued solution development and support.
n
Promote continuous improvement through involvement in review processes and demonstration of individual leadership skills.
