Job Title: Head of Safety
n Location: Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane (Flexible)
n Type: 12-month contract
n Rate: $105 per hour
n About The Role
n Lead the health, safety, and wellbeing strategy across major infrastructure projects on a 12-month contract. Drive a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, and partner with operational teams to embed best practice standards across multiple sites.
n Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop and implement safety strategies aligned with business objectives.
n
Lead and support safety teams across regions.
n
Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and culture.
n
Manage regulatory compliance and reporting.
n
Collaborate with senior leaders and operational teams to influence safety outcomes.
n
What We're Looking For:n
n
Proven health and safety leadership across heavy infrastructure, construction, mining, or energy sectors.
n
Deep knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
n
A people person who brings energy, drives cultural change, and inspires teams - this is the most significant!
n
Outstanding communication skills and a knack for building solid stakeholder relationships.
n
What You Need:n
n
Diploma or higher-level qualification in Work Health and Safety (e.g., Diploma of WHS or equivalent).
n
Tier 1 experience.
n
ICAM.
n
Minimum of 10 years' WHS experience within construction,



heavy infrastructure, or heavy mining.
n
Strong site-based HSE experience.
n
Solid knowledge of QHSE processes and relevant Australian WHS legislation.
n
Proven commitment to compliance with OH&S; legislation and best practices.
n
Strong administrative skills, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint (preferred).
n
Current unrestricted Australian Driver's License with ability to travel to sites as required.
n
