Role
n
QA/QC Officer (Mechanical) – Expressions of Interest (EOI) for upcoming shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance projects in the Gladstone region. The role reports to the Project Quality Manager and Site Leadership Team and focuses on ensuring mechanical maintenance and shutdown works are completed in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, relevant standards, and the quality management system.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Conduct quality inspections of mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities
n
Review work packs, ITPs, quality documentation, and inspection records
n
Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, procedures, and Australian Standards
n
Perform mechanical inspections on fixed plant equipment, piping, structural components, rotating equipment, and associated assets
n
Coordinate and witness testing activities where required
n
Manage quality records, punch lists, NCRs, and close-out documentation
n
Liaise with site supervisors, trades personnel, clients, and contractors
n
Support project teams to achieve quality objectives while maintaining production schedules
n
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence
n

What We're Looking For
n
n
Previous experience as a QA/QC Officer, Quality Inspector, or Quality Coordinator within mining, maintenance, shutdown, construction, or heavy industrial environments
n




Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, quality assurance systems, and inspection methodologies
n
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection test plans (ITPs)
n
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
n
Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
n
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter, Boilermaker, Mechanical Technician or equivalent)
n
Current Australian Driver's Licence
n
Construction White Card
n
Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
n
Australian working rights
n
Experience in shutdown and turnaround projects; mining, mineral processing, LNG, ports, power generation, or heavy industry
n
Knowledge of ISO **** Quality Management Systems
n
SAP or CMMS experience
n
Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications
n
Local Gladstone or Central Queensland experience
n
n
Desirable
n
n
NACE, ICorr, Welding Inspection, or other quality certifications
n
Experience with pressure equipment, piping systems, and fixed plant maintenance
n
n
