About the Opportunity
n
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and experienced Indigenous mental health professional to lead and deliver culturally safe and responsive wellbeing services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in a tertiary education setting.
n
This role is ideal for someone who is committed to improving mental health outcomes, fostering cultural safety, and supporting student success through therapeutic counselling, case management, and health promotion.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the development and delivery of an Indigenous Student Wellbeing Program.
n
Provide culturally appropriate counselling (individual and group), case coordination, and advocacy.
n
Collaborate with Indigenous student support services and other internal stakeholders to ensure holistic care.
n
Build and maintain referral pathways with external community agencies.
n
Contribute to health promotion, training, and wellbeing initiatives across multiple campuses.
n

About You
n
You will bring:
n
n
Qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or a related field, with current registration (AHPRA for psychologists or AASW for social workers).
n
Demonstrated experience providing culturally responsive counselling to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
n
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
n
Experience supporting clients with complex psychosocial needs in high-demand environments.
n
A commitment to cultural safety, continuous learning, and inclusive practice.
n
Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
n
