We're looking for an experienced
Technical Lead - Data Engineering
to join a major enterprise data transformation and lead the technical delivery of two strategic data initiatives.
This is a
hands-on Technical Lead role
for someone who enjoys staying close to the technology while taking ownership of solution design, technical direction and engineering delivery.
You'll work across a modern
AWS and Databricks environment
, partnering with architects, engineers and business stakeholders to turn requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise data engineering solutions.
Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and
Low-Level Designs (LLDs)
.
Design scalable and secure data solutions using
Databricks and AWS
.
Remain hands-on across development, implementation and code reviews.
Design and deliver contemporary data pipelines and
ETL/ELT solutions
.
Provide technical direction and mentoring to Data Engineers.
Work closely with architecture, business and delivery stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.




Ensure solutions meet enterprise architecture, security and data governance standards.
Support testing, deployment and production implementation.
Requirements
Strong experience as a
Technical Lead, Lead Data Engineer
within complex enterprise environments.
Deep hands-on
Databricks
experience is essential.
Experience with some of the following Databricks capabilities -
must have at least 2 to 3 things
:
Databricks Genie
Semantic modelling
Managed MCP Servers
Vector Stores / Vector Search indexes
Lakebase
Strong AWS data engineering experience, ideally across
S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR
or related services.
Strong development skills across
Python, SQL and/or Spark
.
Proven experience designing up-to-date data platforms, pipelines and scalable data architectures.
Experience producing detailed
LLDs and technical specifications
.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
