Full Job Description
n Engineering Trades Australia is currently seeking experienced 6G Pipe Welders for an upcoming shutdown project supporting works at an Ampol facility.
n About the Role
n As a 6G Pipe Welder, you will be involved in the maintenance, repair and modification of refinery pipework during the shutdown period.
n Your duties may include:
n
6G pipe welding on carbon steel process pipework
n
Welding pipework across refinery processing units and associated infrastructure
n
TIG root welding with stick fill and cap
n
Working from approved weld procedures and project specifications
n
Supporting piping maintenance, replacement and modification works
n
Working alongside boilermakers, pipefitters and other specialist shutdown trades
n
Completing welding activities in a controlled refinery workplace
n
Following strict permit-to-work, isolation and hot-work requirements
n
Maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout the turnaround

Pre-Shutdown Inductions:
n
3 x 8-hour days
n
Subject to VOCs and other requirements
n
Shutdown Execution:
n
10-hour shifts
n
6 days per week
n
Day and night shift opportunities
n
CDU1B includes day and night shift work
n
Day Shift: $*****/hr + Penalties Night Shift: $***** + Penalties Requirements
n
Proven experience as a Pipe Welder
n
Ability to pass a 6G weld test on 50DN and 150DN carbon steel pipe
n
TIG root and stick fill/cap experience
n
Relevant trade qualifications and tickets
n
Ability to complete a pre-employment medical
n
Ability to pass criminal background checks
