A leading private equity and venture capital fund manager, with over $3 billion assets under management, is seeking a talented Accountant to join their Sydney-based finance team. This firm partners with high-growth businesses across Australia and New Zealand and offers a dynamic, professional, and collaborative working environment.

About the Role
n
This newly created Accountant role is perfect for someone passionate about finance, investments, and private markets. You'll support a broad range of finance functions including fund accounting, financial reporting, investor communications, and compliance.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, posting journal entries and managing AP/AR processes
n
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
n
Assist with fund accounting duties including NAV calculations, capital calls, and distributions
n
Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and expense management
n
Support BAS preparation and lodgement
n
Liaise with Big 4 auditors and external tax advisors
n
Provide financial analysis and support investment acquisitions
n
Assist with regulatory reporting (AFSL compliance and AusIndustry reporting)
n




Work closely with the Investor Relations team to ensure timely and accurate investor reporting
n

Skills and Experience
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
n
CA or CPA qualified (or currently completing)
n
2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within funds management, investment firms, or skilled services
n
Strong technical accounting knowledge (Australian Accounting Standards)
n
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with sophisticated investors and stakeholders
n
High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and proactive attitude
n
Exposure to private equity and venture capital investments
n
High-performing, collaborative team culture
