Our client partner, a leading Tier 1 Mining Contractor, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead its operational finance function and support major surface mining operations across Australia.
n
About the Role
n
Based at the company's Perth head office close to the Airport, you will lead a team of seven Management Accountants and Senior Management Accountants across Perth and Brisbane.
n
Reporting into senior leadership and partnering with project and functional leaders, you will oversee financial performance, governance and reporting while managing commercial risk and identifying opportunities to improve business performance.
n
A key focus will be reviewing existing practices and delivering improvements across systems, processes and financial and non-financial reporting. You will balance transformation initiatives with BAU delivery and confidently guide stakeholders through change.
n
Travel to Brisbane will be required at least once per month, with future travel requirements subject to business needs.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Lead and develop a finance team of seven across Perth and Brisbane
n
Oversee end-of-month reporting and the timely delivery of financial results
n




Develop and enhance financial and non-financial reporting frameworks
n
Maintain solid financial governance, compliance and record integrity
n
Coordinate annual business planning and budgeting activities
n
Oversee working capital and identify opportunities for optimisation
n
Drive improvements across reporting, systems and finance processes
n
Lead transformation initiatives while maintaining effective BAU delivery
n
Partner with project and functional leaders to support commercial decisions
n
Manage and support stakeholders throughout business and process changes
n
Promote a team culture of accountability, collaboration and integrity
n
n
About You
n
You will be a commercially minded finance leader with experience operating within a large and complex organisation. Proactive and outcomes-focused, you will be confident managing a team, improving established practices and partnering with senior stakeholders.
n
You will also bring:
n
n
A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
n
CA or CPA qualification
n
Demonstrated experience leading and developing a finance team
n
Senior finance experience within mining, resources,



construction, manufacturing or another asset-intensive industry
n
Experience using a large ERP system, ideally SAP
n
Strong financial reporting, planning, governance and commercial analysis skills
n
Proven experience delivering reporting, system and process improvements
n
The ability to balance transformation projects with day-to-day priorities
n
Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
n
A practical, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
n
Willingness to travel to Brisbane at least once per month
n
