About the program
n
In partnership with the South Australian Office for Women, Centacare delivers Haven services in selected regional communities. The Limestone Coast Haven, based in Mount Gambier, serves as a central hub for women and children experiencing domestic, family, and sexual violence. By providing access to information, support, and integrated services, the Haven ensures timely, coordinated, and person-centred responses that meet individual needs.

The Role
n
As a Haven Community Partner, you will play a vital role in supporting victim-survivors by building community awareness, strengthening local service networks, and fostering coordinated responses to domestic, family, and sexual violence.
n
Working collaboratively with the Women's Information Service (WIS) Haven Coordinator, local services, and volunteers, you will help deliver a responsive, person-centred program that meets the unique needs of the community while contributing to a consistent statewide Haven approach. You will also play an important role in engaging and supporting volunteers who help drive local Haven activities and initiatives.

The key duties in this role will include:
n
n
Promote community awareness of domestic, family and sexual violence, and the role of the Haven within the local community.
n
Deliver community education sessions, presentations and information sessions to community groups, service providers and stakeholders.
n
Identify service gaps, emerging trends and community needs, and provide feedback to support service planning, development and advocacy initiatives.
n
Foster positive working relationships between volunteers, WIS and community stakeholders.
n
Contribute to initiatives that strengthen local service coordination and improve outcomes for victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence.
n
Support the embedding of the Haven within the local community and promote its accessibility to those who need it.
n
Collect, monitor and maintain program data in accordance with funding, reporting and organisational requirements.

About You
n
Essential Criteria
n
n
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with community members, service providers, and key stakeholders.
n
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
n
Sound administration, organisational and record-keeping skills, including the ability to maintain accurate documentation and meet reporting requirements.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
Qualification in Community Development, Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
n
Experience working in community engagement, community development, stakeholder engagement or a related field.
n
n
Special Conditions
n
n
Some intrastate travel may be required, including travel between offices, community locations, meetings, events and stakeholder forums.
n
Use of a privately owned vehicle and reimbursement in accordance with Centacare policy may be required.
n
Availability to work flexible schedule on occasion to support community events, engagement activities and stakeholder meetings.
n
