Role DescriptionThe Speech Pathologist role at Focus For Life is an on-site position located in Sydney, NSW. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing and diagnosing speech, language, and communication difficulties in clients across different age groups, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. The role involves providing individual and group therapy, documenting clinical progress, and collaborating with physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and other team members to deliver holistic care.
The Speech Pathologist will communicate regularly with clients, families, and support networks, contribute to reports for funding bodies such as NDIS and WorkCover, and participate in case discussions and career development activities.
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and current membership or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
Demonstrated skills in assessment and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders across the lifespan.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience working with clients funded through NDIS, WorkCover, Medicare, or similar schemes is highly desirable.
Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation, prepare reports, and manage caseloads efficiently.
Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing learning, and person-centred, culturally sensitive care.
Registration or ability to obtain registration with relevant regulatory bodies, and appropriate working rights in Australia.
