In-House Legal Counsel | Commercial Property & Leasing

Join a leading property owner and investment group and play a key role supporting a high-quality commercial and retail portfolio.

This is an opportunity for a commercially astute lawyer looking to move beyond private practice or further develop their in‐house career within a fast‐paced property workplace.
n
Working directly with senior leadership and operational stakeholders, you'll provide practical legal advice across leasing, contracts, compliance and property‐related matters, becoming a trusted advisor to the business.
n
Your focus will include:
n
n
Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial and retail leases
n
Preparing lease renewals, assignments, surrenders, licences and variations
n
Advising on leasing strategy and day‐to‐day property matters
n
Reviewing supplier, contractor and service agreements
n
Providing legal support to property, finance, facilities and executive teams
n
Managing legal compliance and governance requirements
n
Coordinating external legal advisers where required
n
Assisting with disputes, risk management and legal projects across the portfolio
n
n
To be successful,



you will have:
n
n
Approximately 5-6 years' experience in commercial property and leasing law
n
Strong exposure to commercial and/or retail leasing transactions
n
Experience gained within a property owner, landlord‐side, real estate, property management or in‐house environment
n
Working knowledge of PEXA
n
Strong commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills
n
A proactive, solutions‐focused approach with the ability to work autonomously
n
