Maintenance Fitter – Rotating Day & Night Shift

Are you a Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter with experience maintaining production machinery within a manufacturing environment?

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their maintenance team in a permanent full-time position on a fortnightly rotating roster.
n
Previous food manufacturing experience is not essential. However, applicants must have previous experience maintaining production machinery within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and equipment
n
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime
n
Perform routine inspections and planned maintenance
n
Maintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, chains, belts and associated production equipment
n
Carry out equipment installations, repairs and mechanical upgrades
n
Complete maintenance documentation accurately
n
Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to maximize equipment reliability
n




Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements
n
n
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
n
n
Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter – Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or an equivalent Australian recognized mechanical trade qualification (Essential)
n
Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter within a manufacturing environment
n
Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
n
Experience carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery
n
Experience working with conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, chains, belts and pneumatic systems
n
Welding and fabrication experience will be highly regarded
n
Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
n
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n

Roster
n
This position operates on a fortnightly rotating 12-hour roster:

Remuneration & Benefits

Fixed base hourly rate (no separate day or night rates)

Saturday: Time and a Half (1.5x)

Sunday: Double Time (2x)
