About the Role:
n
A global organisation is seeking a General Manager, Operations | Data Centres to drive operational excellence and strategic growth within its expanding Data Centre portfolio. This is a mission-critical role responsible for ensuring high performance, security, and sustainability while supporting the company's ambitious growth plans in the Data Centre sector which include 'Owner/Operate model'.

With increasing demand for high-availability, resilient, and energy-efficient Data Centre infrastructure, this role is vital in scaling operations, enhancing service delivery, and maintaining industry-leading uptime standards.

Key Responsibilities:
n
Strategic Leadership & Growth
n
n
Develop and execute a long-term strategy for Data Centre operations, aligning with business expansion goals.
n
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including Data Centre managers, engineers, and operational support staff across multiple locations.
n
Drive capacity planning, expansion projects, and infrastructure upgrades to meet evolving market demands.
n
n
Operational Excellence & Critical Systems Management
n
n
Oversee the end-to-end operations of multiple hyperscale Data Centres.
n
Implement best practices for power, cooling, networking, and security to maintain world-class reliability.
n
Standardise Data Centre operational processes across all locations to drive efficiency and consistency.
n
Develop and manage multi-million-dollar budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximised ROI.
n
Lead vendor and contract management, ensuring optimal service levels and strategic partnerships.
n
Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and standards, including ISO *****, Uptime Institute certifications, and local regulatory requirements.
n

Sustainability & Innovation
n
n
Lead sustainability initiatives, promoting green Data Centre practices and driving carbon footprint reduction.
n
Advocate for the adoption of next-generation cooling and power solutions, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
n
Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, automation, and edge computing to ensure competitive advantage.
n

Qualifications & Experience:
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
n
10+ years of experience in large-scale Data Centre operations, with proven leadership in managing mission-critical environments.
n
Expertise in high-density computing environments, hybrid cloud solutions, and colocation services.
n
Deep understanding of critical infrastructure systems, including UPS, generators, and HVAC.
n
