Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking a Staff Specialist in Palliative Medicine to join our dedicated and multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced specialist or a newly fellowed Palliative Medicine specialist looking to establish their career in a supportive, collegiate and rewarding environment. Working across both inpatient and community settings, you will provide expert clinical care and leadership to patients requiring palliative care services. As a Staff Specialist, you will have opportunities to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, research, quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

About You
n
We welcome applications from both experienced specialists and newly fellowed physicians who are passionate about delivering high-quality palliative care and contributing to the growth of rural health services.

Applicants must possess:
n
n
A primary medical degree registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
n
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine), or equivalent qualifications recognised under the Staff Specialists (State) Award
n
Recent clinical experience in Palliative Medicine appropriate to the role and service requirements
n




Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical leadership
n
Excellent communication skills, including the effective use of information technology and solid written, verbal and interpersonal capabilities
n
A commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
n
Availability to participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable timeframe
n
