The Role
n
We are seeking an experienced Technical Solution Architect to lead the design and evolution of the institutional connectivity and access layer for a high-performance trading platform.
n
This is a hands‐on architectural leadership role responsible for the end‐to‐end design, implementation, and optimisation of trading system connectivity—particularly the FIX protocol‐based APIs used by institutional clients, liquidity providers, and trading counterparties.
n
You will define and own the architecture that enables secure, scalable, and low‐latency order flow into the exchange, ensuring world‐class reliability and performance across all external trading integrations.
n
This role also includes managing a distributed engineering team ****** people across multiple regions) and working closely with product, engineering, risk, and compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the design and evolution of core trading system architecture for a digital asset exchange
n
Own institutional connectivity and API architecture,
with a strong focus on FIX protocol (4.4)
n
Design high‐availability, high‐throughput, and low‐latency systems supporting:n
n
Order matching
n
Market data distribution
n
Clearing and settlement workflows
n
Risk and compliance controls
n
n
Define and maintain FIX API specifications, interface documentation, and integration standards
n
Ensure seamless integration for institutional clients and liquidity providers
n
Identify system bottlenecks and deliver forward‐looking architectural improvements
n
Lead technical design reviews and drive implementation across engineering teams
n
Establish architecture standards, engineering best practices, and development guidelines
n
Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure regulatory alignment
n
Monitor industry trends in distributed systems, exchange infrastructure, and blockchain technologies, and apply relevant innovations
n
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a cross‐functional engineering team
n
Manage cross‐regional collaboration across development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams
n
n
Requirements
n
n
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master's preferred)
n
10 years of software engineering and system architecture experience
n
3 years in crypto exchange, trading venue, or traditional financial markets (FX, equities, derivatives, etc.)
n
Deep understanding of exchange systems including:n
n
Matching engines
n
Market data systems
n
Clearing/settlement
workflows
n
Risk management systems
n
n
Strong expertise in FIX protocol (4.4 or higher) including API design and implementation
n
Proven experience designing low‐latency, high‐concurrency distributed systems
n
Robust programming background in at least one major language (e.g., Java, C, Go)
n
Experience with messaging systems, caching layers, and distributed databases
n
Understanding of blockchain concepts is beneficial
n
Strong commercial and business awareness within financial markets
n
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical architecture
n
Experience leading cross‐functional engineering teams across multiple regions
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
