TheDeveloper Experience Engineeris a senior individual contributor responsible for driving measurable improvements to developer experience,
deliveryperformanceand
operational efficiency
acrossCreditorWatch
'sengineering organisation.

Working within the Engineering Operations team alongside Staff Engineers and a Solution Architect, this roleoperatesat the intersection of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, AI-drivenworkflowsand cross-team coordination. TheDeveloper Experience
Engineeridentifiesfriction,
proposessolutionsand
ships outcomes -operatingwith a high degree of autonomy and pace.

This is not a traditional DevOps role focused on keeping the lights on. This is a role for someone who sees broken workflows, slowpipelinesand manual toil as problems to be solved systematically - and who has the technical skill and communication ability to drive adoption across a multi-squad engineering organisation.

You'll report directly to the Engineering Operations Manager in this role.

Some of your responsibilities include and are not limited to:

AI-Driven Workflows & Developer Productivity
n
n
Drive the adoption and operationalisation of AI tooling across the SDLC
n
Design and implement AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual effort at each stage from ideation through to production
n
Establish best
practices,standardsand
guardrails for AI-assisted development across squads
n
n
CI/CD & Pipeline Optimisation
n
n
Own the performance and reliability of CI/CD pipelines built on GitHub Actions
n
Reduce build
times,eliminateflakytestsand
improve deployment confidence across teams
n
Implement
andmaintaininfrastructure
-as-code practices using Terraform
n
n
Developer Experience
n
n
Systematicallyidentifyandeliminatedeveloper
friction across the engineering organisation

Improve local development environments,
onboardingexperienceand
day-to-day tooling
n
Reduce manual process burden through automation of repetitive tasks - shifting developers toward verification and orchestration rather than manual implementation
n
Drive standardisation across
repositories,pipelinesand
teams to reduce cognitive load, context-switchingcostand per-team maintenance overhead
n
Use DORA and DX metrics toidentifyhigh-impact improvement opportunities, measure outcomes
anddemonstrateprogress
in deployment frequency and lead time
n

Cross-Team Coordination & Initiative Delivery
n
n
Lead complex, cross-cutting improvement initiatives from investigation through to adoption
n
Coordinate with squad leads and engineers to roll out operational changes with minimal disruption
n
Communicate progress,trade-offsand outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
n
n
Our ideal candidate
n
n
Practical experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE or similar with strong hands-on capability
n
Deep experience with CI/CD pipeline design and optimisation, particularly GitHub Actions
n
Practical experience integrating SaaS
platforms(e.gDatadog,LaunchDarkly,
Databricks,Jira, JSM,getDX)
n
Practical Terraform and infrastructure-as-code skills in AWS environments
n
Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (Claude Code, Copilot or equivalent)
n
Excellent communication and influencing skills - able to build consensus across squads without authority
n
Data-driven mindset - uses metrics to inform priorities, justify decisions
anddemonstrateimpact

Comfortable working across a polyglot environment (PHP, Node, Go, Python)
n
Experience with containerised workloads (ECS/EKS) and cloud-native architectures
n
Systems-thinking approach toidentifyingand resolving developer experience problems at scale
