As a Machine Learning Engineer at MYOB, you will design, build, and scale AI-driven applications that support our SaaS business management platform for small and enterprise businesses across Australia and New Zealand.

As a foundational member of the AI team, you'll shape the technical vision, lead a small team of engineers, and build systems that directly impact customers' success.

What You'll Do

Design and implement machine learning systems from the ground up, focusing on large language models and foundation models tailored to small business needs.
n
Develop and deploy AI-powered features for automated document understanding, financial forecasting, and conversational interfaces.
n
Optimize AI systems for scalability, safety, and reliability.
n
Bring ideas from concept to production in a dynamic setting.
n
Lead projects end‐to‐end, implementing MLOps best practices for robust and efficient solutions.

What You'll Bring

Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and experience with LLMs and foundation models (GPT, Claude, Llama).
n
Thought leadership and experience mentoring, coaching, or leading others.
n
Strong knowledge of AWS services (SageMaker, Bedrock, S3) and cloud‐based architectures.
n
Expertise in CI/CD pipelines for ML, model versioning, monitoring, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
n
Passion for solving real‐world challenges for small businesses through innovative AI applications.
n
Creativity and resilience to thrive in ambiguous environments.
n
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
n
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty) are highly desirable.
