A major regional hospital in coastal Queensland is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Paediatrician to join its growing Child & Adolescent Health Service. The Opportunity
n
You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary paediatric team, providing specialist care across:
n

Paediatric inpatient wards
n
Special Care Nursery
n
Emergency consultations
n
Outpatient clinics
n
Shared-care and community paediatrics
n
n
There is also chance to be involved in service development, education, and quality improvement initiatives across the broader Paediatric Department.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Deliver high-quality clinical care for infants, children, and adolescents
n
Participate in on-call roster supporting paediatric emergencies and neonatal resuscitation
n
Work collaboratively with nursing, allied health, and medical teams
n
Provide leadership,



mentorship and education to junior doctors and medical students
n
Conduct outpatient clinics and remote/telehealth
consultationsSupport
service improvement, governance, and best-practice standardsEngage in culturally safe care, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children
n

About You
n
n
FRACP in General Paediatrics, or equivalent
n
AHPRA Specialist Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
n
Strong experience in neonatal resuscitation and acute paediatric care
n
Interest or experience in developmental paediatrics (advantageous but not essential)
n
A team-oriented, communicative approach with excellent interpersonal skills
n
Commitment to education, service development, and multidisciplinary teamwork
n
Passion for supporting regional and rural communities
