Accounting Manager - CLT based (Noda area)

A growing multi-location business in the Charlotte area, near NoDa, is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting operational decision-making with timely financial insights. The ideal candidate brings proven management experience, is highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location business environment. This role offers a clear path toward a Controllership position.

Key Responsibilities
n

Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
n
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
n
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts
n
Maintain organized financial records for all locations
n
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
n
Lead, supervise, and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and performance management
n




Partner with operations to track KPIs such as labor costs, chemical usage, and revenue per unit
n
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
n
Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers as needed
n
Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities
n

Qualifications
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
n
5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role
n
Experience in multi-location businesses (retail, hospitality, convenience retail, or similar industries preferred)
n
Strong knowledge of GAAP
n
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; accounting system experience preferred
n
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
