Patent Attorney (Chemistry/Life Sciences) – Halfords IP

Location: Sydney, Australia

Halfords IP are continuing to grow and are now looking for a qualified Associate/Senior Associate level Patent Attorney with a Chemistry or Life Sciences background.
n

Qualifications/Experience:
n
n
Superior qualifications – such as a PhD in a chemistry or life sciences discipline or similar
n
Drafting/Filing/Prosecuting/Enforcing
Patent Applications for local clients
n
Excellent written and oral communications skills
n
Ability to critically analyse and think laterally
n
Robust work ethic and client service focus
n
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
n
Highly ambitious to build a long-term career at Halfords
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Working with and advising local and overseas clients to protect, enforce and provide strategic advice on their inventions in Australia, New Zealand and overseas
n
Conducting and arranging patent searches and advising on validity, infringement, FTO issues, etc.
n
Conducting patent oppositions, hearings, and working with external legal counsel in litigious patent issues
n
Reviewing and analysing relevant case law to prepare concise articles for associates and clients at different levels
n
Carrying out local and overseas business development activities to bring in new business and grow the patent practice
n
