About The Role
n
As a member of the Quality & Risk Management team, you will play a key role in enhancing how BDO assesses, manages and onboard clients across the firm. This national Manager – Onboarding role offers the flexibility to be based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney.
n
Working closely with the Head of Policy, Compliance and Client Onboarding, you will help establish and embed a firm‐wide client and engagement acceptance framework, ensuring governance, risk and operational processes support consistent, high‐quality decision‐making.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
n
n
Partner with the Head of Policy, Compliance and Client Onboarding to establish, operationalise and continuously enhance the firm's client onboarding framework.
n
Update, design and implement governance structures, operational practices, workflows and controls to support effective and consistent acceptance processes.
n
Lead the development of applications, submissions and supporting documentation for Client Onboarding Acceptance Panels.
n
Ensure acceptance processes, frameworks and controls remain aligned with firm policies, qualified standards and regulatory requirements.
n
Lead the development, maintenance and enhancement of policies, procedures, guidance materials and risk assessment frameworks supporting client onboarding.
n
Oversee the design and ongoing refinement of onboarding forms, questionnaires, risk assessment criteria and escalation pathways.
n
Support the rollout and evolution of client onboarding systems, ensuring policies, procedures and operational practices remain fit for purpose.
n
Monitor emerging risks, analyse trends and themes, and provide recommendations to strengthen governance outcomes and risk management practices.

Ensure risk assessments,
escalations and acceptance decisions are appropriately documented, supported and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
n
Partner with Service Line Quality Leaders, Legal, Anti‐Money Laundering, Enterprise Risk Management, Independence Conflicts and Ethics teams to translate acceptance requirements into practical business processes.
n
Act as a trusted advisor on client onboarding and acceptance governance matters, providing guidance to stakeholders across the firm.
n
Develop and deliver guidance, training and awareness initiatives to strengthen understanding of client onboarding requirements.
n

About You
n
You bring a blend of governance, risk and stakeholder management experience, together with a practical, solutions‐focused approach to improving business processes and managing organisational risk.
n
You Will Also Have
n
n
Experience in client and engagement acceptance, governance, risk or compliance within a professional services or regulated environment.
n
A degree in Business, Management, Finance or a related discipline.
n
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM platforms (preferred).
n
Solid understanding of client onboarding, due diligence and risk assessment processes.
n
Experience developing policies, frameworks and operational processes, with awareness of evolving regulatory and risk requirements.
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and written communication skills, with proven experience leading complex initiatives and partnering with senior stakeholders.
n
Proven ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement and apply sound judgement to risk‐based decision‐making.
