What you need to know

- $28.31 per hour base rate (Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm)
- $42.47 per hour Sunday rate (9:00am to 11:00pm), plus above-award pay and applicable penalty rates, including weekends and public holidays

Additional Information
- Permanent Part-time 30 hours per fortnight
- Rotating roster between 8:00am and 9:30pm on weekdays and weekends
- Availability to work 3 out of every 4 weekends, including both Saturday and Sunday
Recruitment Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a pre-recorded video interview
- Selected candidates will then attend an in-person interview with the hiring team
- Successful applicants will commence employment with IKEA on Monday, 21 September
- November to January is one of IKEA's busiest trading periods. To support our customers during this time, we prefer co-workers not to plan holidays during these months and to maintain availability throughout the peak period.
About this work area
This is a hands-on, active role for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and making a real difference for the planet. As a Product Quality & Recovery Co-worker, you'll give products a second life, support quality standards, and help customers find great value through our As-is offer.
You'll be on your feet, working with products, tools, systems, customers, and your team every day - no two days are the same.
As Product Quality & Recovery Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Recover, assess and prepare returned or damaged products so they can be reused, repackaged or resold.
- Build and rebuild furniture safely and correctly using instructions and tools.
- Present products in the As-is shopfloor with pride, setting attractive prices that deliver value for customers and strong results for the store.
- Engage confidently with customers, listening to their needs and sharing your product knowledge to support their purchase decisions.
- Make practical decisions about how products can be reused, repaired or recycled - always keeping quality, safety and sustainability in mind.
- Work closely with other teams to support product quality, recovery and compliance processes.
- Maintain a safe, organised work setting and follow safe manual handling practices at all times.
As Product Quality & Recovery Co-worker you are someone who:
- Enjoys physical work and is comfortable with manual handling, lifting and being on your feet.
- Likes solving problems and can think practically and creatively when things aren't straightforward.
- Has confidence to make decisions and communicate clearly with customers and co-workers.
- Cares about sustainability, circularity and reducing waste.
- Is motivated, reliable and takes pride in doing a job well.
- Can work well in a team but is also comfortable working independently.
- Is comfortable using basic computer systems and learning new tools.
