Key responsibilities (text) As Unit Facility Management Manager for IKEA's Distribution Centre/Central Distribution Centre, you will lead all Facility Management (FM) operations, ensuring our facility remains safe, compliant, efficient, and sustainable. You will be accountable for FM governance, budgets, ISA compliance, supplier performance, and leading a unified FM team supporting both building systems and warehouse automation. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Own and deliver the Real Estate Long-Term Plan (RELTP) and FM budget, ensuring alignment with ISA requirements and Ingka FM frameworks.
- Lead the FM team to provide safe, compliant, and reliable facilities that support business operations.
- Oversee property lifecycle activities, including maintenance, compliance, asset performance, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the adoption of innovative property management solutions, digital tools, and technical systems.
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs meet statutory and ISA requirements.
- Improve operational and environmental performance, with a focus on energy, water, waste, and sustainability outcomes.
- Manage FM planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting,
and performance follow-up.
- Oversee supplier contracts and performance, including scope development, KPIs, tenders, approvals, and service delivery standards.
- Provide FM leadership and input into CAPEX projects, supporting design, tendering, handover, and operational readiness.
- Takes accountability for after-hours escalation and emergency response governance across all FM services and assets in the unit. Responds to FM asset critical incidents (fire detection, flooding, HVAC failure, power outage)
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand needs and support business goals.
- Develop team capability, performance, succession planning, and compliance with training requirements.
- Foster an inclusive, values-led culture that reflects IKEA's vision and values.
- Support wider Real Estate initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Let´s connect You are a collaborative and service-oriented leader with solid technical and operational expertise in facilities management. You combine commercial awareness with a practical, data-driven approach and are passionate about developing people, improving performance, and delivering sustainable outcomes. You have experience managing facilities in complex operational environments and are comfortable working across digital tools, budgets, compliance, suppliers, warehouse operations, and automation systems. You can confidently engage stakeholders at all levels while leading teams through change and continuous improvement. To be considered for this role you will need to have:
- At least 5 years' experience leading teams in a complex operational environment.
- At least 6 years' experience managing external service providers and supplier contracts.
- Experience in facilities management within a high-volume distribution, logistics, or industrial environment.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including budget management and performance reporting.
- Experience delivering sustainability initiatives across energy, water, waste, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with warehouse automation systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with digital FM tools and systems; experience with Plan-on, SAP, or similar ERP platforms is advantageous.

Local section (text) • Contract type: Permanent, full time 76 hours per/fortnight .
- Role location: Role is based at DC/CDC, Marsden Park.
- Internal role title is Unit Facility Management Manager.
- You will be available to work Monday to Friday, supporting a Distribution Centre that operates across a broad range of hours. This role requires flexibility to meet operational and business needs, including occasional work outside standard business hours. Future business requirements may also include Saturday availability.
- As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates. If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
