North East Mitsubishi is seeking an experienced and highly capable Workshop Foreman to provide hands-on technical leadership to our team of technicians and apprentices.

This is a genuine Workshop Foreman position—not a Workshop Controller role. The primary focus is technical leadership, advanced diagnosis, repair quality, technician development and maintaining high workshop standards. You will work closely with the Service Manager and Workshop Controller to ensure jobs progress efficiently and are completed correctly the first time.

A company vehicle will be provided as part of the remuneration package.

North East Mitsubishi operates from a modern, exceptionally equipped facility in Hillcrest. As an award-winning Mitsubishi dealership and Premium Service Centre, we are committed to delivering outstanding workmanship and a premium customer experience.

About the Role

As Workshop Foreman, you will set the technical and professional standard across the workshop. You will support technicians with complex repairs and diagnosis, oversee workmanship, mentor apprentices and help the team achieve strong productivity without compromising safety or quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing hands-on technical leadership to technicians and apprentices

- Assisting with the diagnosis and resolution of complex vehicle faults

- Ensuring Mitsubishi manufacturer and company standards are consistently achieved

- Leading workplace health and safety as the workshop’s highest priority

- Ensuring company procedures, policies and safe working practices are followed

- Coaching, mentoring and developing technicians and apprentices

- Identifying skills gaps and supporting technical training

- Promoting accountability, teamwork and pride in workmanship

- Identifying opportunities to improve workshop flow, efficiency and productivity

- Working closely with the Service Manager and Workshop Controller

- Assisting the Workshop Controller with the effective operation of the workshop

- Communicating technical findings clearly to Service Advisors and customers when required

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:

- A recognised Australian automotive trade qualification

- Extensive experience as a qualified automotive technician

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities

- Previous experience as a Workshop Foreman, Senior Technician, Master Technician or technical team leader

- Proven ability to lead, support and develop technicians and apprentices

- A/C license will be highly regarded

- A strong commitment to repair quality and completing work correctly the first time

- Sound knowledge of workshop safety and WHS requirements

- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with technicians, management and customers

- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

- A calm, practical and solutions-focused leadership style

- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship

- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team

- A current Australian driver’s licence

Mitsubishi experience would be highly regarded but is not essential. Training and ongoing support will be provided to the right applicant.

What We Offer

In return for your experience and leadership, we offer:

- An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience

- A company vehicle

- An uncapped bonus plan

- A permanent, full-time position

- A five-day working week—Monday to Friday with no weekends

- The financial security of a substantial, well-established and family-owned company
