Council is seeking an experienced Plant Operator for a hands-on role in quarry operations. Join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality materials to support Council projects and customers across the region.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for undertaking a range of quarry activities through the skilled operation of mobile plant and crushing equipment. You will contribute to meeting operational and sales requirements while ensuring a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency. This is a practical, team-based role suited to someone who enjoys a mix of machine operation, maintenance and general quarry duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a range of quarry mobile plant and fixed crushing plant equipment.
- Undertake repairs, wear part replacements and preventative maintenance.
- Perform general quarry duties including plant operation, labouring and housekeeping.
- Conduct daily servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer requirements.
- Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
- Provide professional customer service when interacting with quarry clients.
- Identify and report plant defects,
hazards and operational issues.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Demonstrated experience operating quarry or heavy civil plant.
- Ability to operate Front End Loaders, Excavators and Articulated Dump Trucks.
- Strong understanding of plant maintenance and safe operating practices.
- A willingness to learn all aspects of quarry operations, including batching and weighbridge processes.
- Valuable communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
