About the role

Ferntree Gully Automotive is seeking an experienced Selling Manager to join our dynamic sales team. This is a full-time position based at our dealership in Ferntree Gully, VIC 3156. As Selling Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales performance, leading our sales consultants, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. You will be responsible for managing the sales floor, overseeing sales activities, and contributing to the achievement of our dealership's ambitious sales targets and revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and manage the sales team, providing coaching, mentoring and performance management to sales consultants to ensure they meet and exceed individual and team targets

- Oversee all sales activities on the dealership floor, ensuring a high standard of customer service and engagement

- Monitor sales performance metrics and analyse trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth

- Conduct sales reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to develop their skills and capabilities

- Manage customer inquiries, handle complex negotiations, and close high-value sales opportunities

- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share and customer retention

- Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

- Collaborate with other departments, including finance and aftersales, to optimise the customer journey

- Participate in training programmes and stay current with vehicle inventory, pricing and product knowledge

- Report on sales performance to senior management and contribute to business planning initiatives





What we're looking for

- Proven track record of 5+ years in automotive sales, with at least 2-3 years in a sales management or supervisory role

- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets in a dealership or automotive retail workplace

- Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop sales staff

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues

- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales management software

- In-depth knowledge of vehicle products, pricing models, and financing options

- Ability to analyse sales data and use insights to inform strategic decisions

- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage challenging customer situations professionally

- Valid Australian driving licence and ability to test drive vehicles with customers

- Preferably experience with dealership management systems and performance reporting tools
