Join a growing multidisciplinary paediatric clinic and play a key role in developing its speech pathology service from the ground up.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech Pathologist who wants greater clinical autonomy while working alongside paediatricians, psychologists and occupational therapists.
The clinic provides families with assessment, diagnosis and ongoing therapy in one central location, with a strong focus on personalised and evidence-based care.
The Opportunity
The position will commence part-time, with the opportunity to increase your hours as your caseload develops.
Approximately 90% of referrals are expected to come from private-paying families, allowing you to focus on quality clinical care
The role is clinic-based. There are no routine home visits, although occasional school visits may be considered where clinically appropriate and agreed upon in advance.
Your Responsibilities
- Assess and support children with speech, language and communication needs
- Work with children with autism, ADHD and developmental differences
- Develop individualised, evidence-based intervention plans
- Provide families with practical strategies and ongoing guidance
- Collaborate with paediatricians, psychologists and occupational therapists
- Liaise with schools and other professionals where appropriate
- Help establish clinical processes for the growing speech pathology service
- Contribute to the future growth of the broader allied health team
About You
Speech Pathologist who is confident working independently and enjoys being part of a collaborative clinical environment.
You will ideally have:
- SPA membership and eligibility to practise in Australia
- Experience supporting children with autism and developmental needs
- Strong paediatric assessment and intervention skills
- Experience within a private practice or clinic-based setting
- Confidence managing your own caseload
- Strong communication and family engagement skills
- A flexible approach to working hours, including some after-school availability
- An interest in helping develop a recent speech pathology service
