The Role

We have a permanent full-time position available to join our Electrical Educational Delivery team at TAFE Queensland SkillsTech's Alexandra Hills campus.

As a TAFE Teacher in Electrical, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

This position reports to the relevant Business Manager.

Additional Information About The Role

- Work-Life Balance: Maintain a predictable, structured 36 ¼ hour week within a highly supportive, secure public sector environment, broken down as:

- Direct Teaching (21 Hours): Scheduled classroom lessons, workshop sessions, and lab assessments.
- Non-Teaching Activities (11 Hours): Lesson preparation, marking, resource development, and compliance documentation.
- Discretionary Time (4 ¼ Hours): Self-directed career development, industry research, or managing administrative demands.
- Attractive Remuneration: Competitive salary packaging up to $105,218.10+ per annum; access to ‘contact’ overtime (face-to-face teaching) when required which is paid at $115.32 per hour; Queensland Government 12.75% superannuation; Salary packaging options available and, outstanding leave provisions with up to nine weeks away from campus every year.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, or equivalent, and the following:

- current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;

Additionally, to become a TAFE Queensland teacher you must hold, or be willing to obtain, a qualification in adult education. Primarily this qualification is TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent.

Please note applicants need not necessarily possess teaching experience, as the right candidate may be trained and developed through coaching, mentoring and partnering. Importance is placed on possession of the appropriate qualifications, industry experience and the right attitude.
