Role title: Emergency Department Administration Officer

Role type: Permanent Part-Time opportunities available (24 hrs/per week)

Role grade: Administration Officer Level 3, (Year1-2)

Department and location: Emergency Department (ED),St Vincent’s Public Hospital, Sydney

Salary: $73,915.12 - $76,218.80 (pro-rata) + super + salary packaging

About the role

No two days are the same in our Emergency Department. As an Emergency Department Administration Officer, you'll be at the heart of one of Australia's busiest tertiary hospitals, ensuring patients receive a welcoming, efficient and professional experience from the moment they arrive.

Working alongside doctors, nurses and multidisciplinary teams, you'll play an essential role in supporting patient care while keeping the department running smoothly around the clock.

In this role you will:

Welcome and assist patients, families and visitors with professionalism, empathy and respect.

Register patients, manage admissions and maintain accurate electronic medical records.





Coordinate patient movements and update patient information to support efficient Emergency Department operations.

Process billing, funding and payment information accurately.

Provide high-quality administrative support to clinical teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Important: 24/7 Rotating Roster

This position operates on a 24-hour, 7-day rotating roster and includes day, evening, night, weekend and public holiday shifts.

Availability to work across all rostered shifts is an essential requirement of this role

About you

Be the first point of contact for patients, families and visitors, delivering a professional, compassionate and welcoming experience in our busy Emergency Department.

Register patients, manage admissions and maintain accurate electronic medical records to support safe and efficient patient care.

Coordinate patient flow by updating patient movements and communicating effectively with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Process billing, funding and payment information while ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital procedures.

Work as part of a 24/7 rotating roster, including day, evening, night, weekend and public holiday shifts, to provide administrative support whenever our Emergency Department is caring for the community.
