Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

About the Role

We are seeking a Family Violence Registrar to play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality court and registry services.

In this rewarding position, you will work closely with the Manager, Intervention Order & Family Law Registry and a fellow Registrar to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Family Violence team, ensuring the efficient preparation and management of court lists, files, and registry services.

As a Family Violence Registrar, you will be a key leader within the Registry,



supporting the smooth operation of Family Violence matters while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team workplace.

You'll have the opportunity to:

- Lead and support the daily operations of the Family Violence team.
- Ensure court files, documentation, and hearing lists are prepared accurately and efficiently.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to Deputy Registrars and Qualified Registrars.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Trainee Registrars during their Family Violence rotation, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to succeed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the court to deliver exceptional service and outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of registry operations.

About You

- The Family Violence Registrar will have strong knowledge of the requirements of the Family Violence jurisdiction and have emerging leadership skills to facilitate working closely with the team to support and educate team members to meet the needs of court users in a sensitive area.
- Must be a suitably qualified and experienced Registrar of the Victorian Magistrates' Court having completed the Victorian Magistrates' Court Trainee Registrar Program or a Certificate IV in Government (Court Services) or equivalent.
- Excellent judgement is required to make decisions about the handling of matters as they occur and to escalate as required.
