The Company

Our client is a nationally recognised engineering contractor specialising in Ground Anchoring, Slope Stabilisation, Shotcrete, Foundation Piling, Specialist Civil Construction and Ground Improvement projects.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work across Queensland, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to join their team and help deliver a diverse range of technically challenging ground engineering projects.

The successful candidate will have Australian experience delivering projects involving:

- Jet Grouting
- Ground Anchoring (Soil Nailing & Rock Bolting)
- Slope Stabilisation
- Ground Improvement
- Shotcrete
- Foundation Piling

The successful candidate will commence working on projects in Sydney for the next 4-6 months. Following completion of these projects this role is primarily a ROSTER position working across Regional NSW on a 15 days on / 6 days off roster.

A fully maintained company vehicle is provided (fuel card / tolls tag), along with accommodation and a Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA) of $100 per night while working away. Based on the roster, this equates to approximately $25,000 per year in additional earnings, depending on project locations and time worked away throughout the year.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination and successful delivery of specialist ground engineering projects throughout Sydney and Regional NSW.

Working closely with Site Supervisors, Project Managers and client representatives, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities





- Managing projects from award of project to final payment claim including;
- Attend tender handover, review tender costing, discuss method and resources with Construction Manager & Supervisor, produce budget for project
- Develop SWMS and method statement with Construction Manager, Supervisor & Engineering Manager/Director (during first year the bulk of this work will be done by the other staff, then as you become familiar with the method you will be expected to take over this duty)
- Develop contract programme and weekly lookahead programmes
- Plan resources to suit start date and programme - internal plant and people, external plant, materials, subcontractors
- For D&C; projects, review design to confirm constructability
- Spend a substantial amount of time on site, learn our clients techniques (pros, cons, production rates, limitations, resource requirements)
- Weekly safety inspections, incident reporting, near miss/hazard/improvement reporting
- Manage construction records, testing & QA
- Manage cost and income - weekly cost and income,
- Manage change - technical impact, variations, extensions of time

- $130,000 - $140,000 base salary (dependent on Australian experience)

About You

To be considered for this position you will have:

- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2-5 years' Australian Project Engineering experience delivering Ground Engineering, Jet Grouting, Anchoring, Slope Stabilisation, Shotcrete, and Foundation Piling projects.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
- Commitment to delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Willingness to work a 15 days on / 6 days off DIDO roster across the Greater NSW region after completion of Sydney based projects.
- Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship with unrestricted working rights.
