Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurses – Boutique Day Surgery

About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking to appoint multiple experienced Registered Nurses with demonstrated experience in Anaesthetics and/or Recovery to join our boutique day surgery. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit, professional team committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a modern, patient-focused environment.

These are casual positions, with an expected commitment of approximately seven shifts per month. Flexibility is essential, as shift requirements may vary depending on operating lists and service needs.

The successful candidates will be confident perioperative nurses who can work independently, demonstrate sound clinical judgement, and provide high-quality care throughout the patient's surgical journey.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in the Anaesthetic and/or Recovery areas.
n
- Assist anaesthetists during induction, maintenance and emergence from anaesthesia.
n
- Provide comprehensive post-anaesthetic care, monitoring and assessing patients during recovery.
n
- Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
n
- Prepare and maintain anaesthetic and recovery equipment and medications.
n
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and compliance with infection control, accreditation and safety standards.
n
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the broader perioperative team to ensure efficient theatre operations.

Essential Criteria

n





n
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
n
- Demonstrated recent experience in Anaesthetics, Recovery, or both, within an operating theatre or accredited day surgery.
n
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
n
- Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient-centred care.
n
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
n

Mandatory Requirement

n

Applicants must have unrestricted full working rights in Australia.

n

Applications from holders of Working Holiday Visas, Student Visas, or other temporary visas with work restrictions will not be considered.

Desirable

n

n
- Experience in both Anaesthetic and Recovery nursing.
n
- Private hospital or day surgery experience.
n
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
n
- Knowledge of ACORN Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
n
- Experience across a range of surgical specialties.
n

Job Summary

We are recruiting multiple experienced Registered Nurses with perioperative nursing experience in Anaesthetics and/or Recovery to join our friendly and qualified team. These part-time roles offer approximately seven shifts per month and are ideal for nurses seeking flexibility while maintaining a high level of clinical practice.

n

The successful applicants will be autonomous practitioners with recent operating theatre experience, excellent clinical judgement, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Experience in both Anaesthetics and Recovery will be highly regarded; however, applicants with strong experience in either specialty are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must hold current AHPRA registration and unrestricted full working rights in Australia. Applicants on Working Holiday, Student or other temporary visas with work restrictions will not be considered.
