Yintjingga Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) is seeking an accurate and dependable Payroll and Finance Officer to join its Cairns-based team.

n

This is a predominantly finance-focused role with ownership of end-to-end payroll, accounts processing, reconciliations and financial administration, with some general administration support when required.

n

Although based in Cairns, your work will support YAC's operations and natural and cultural resource management programs across the Lama Lama land and sea estate near Coen in Cape York.

About the role

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Managing end-to-end payroll in Xero
n
- Processing timesheets and Single Touch Payroll
n
- Maintaining creditor and debtor records
n
- Preparing payment runs for approval
n
- Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
n
- Processing payroll-related travel allowances and reconciliations
n
- Assisting with BAS, PAYG, superannuation and audit preparation
n
- Supporting budget and financial reporting activities
n
- Providing back-up general administration support when required
n

About you

n

You will bring:

n

n
- Experience in payroll and finance administration
n
- Confidence using Xero or similar accounting software
n
- Robust attention to detail
n
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
n
- A professional and confidential approach
n
- Qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Business, or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential
n

n

Experience in the not-for-profit sector or with an Aboriginal organisation will be highly regarded.

n
