The team you'll be joining

n

Our Australian team consists of approximately 50 highly skilled engineers, and it is expanding rapidly due to the growth of large-scale hybrid projects.

n

What you'll be leading

n

AsaProtectionandControlEngineer,youwillplayacriticalroleinthedesign,implementation,andcommissioningofelectricalprotectionsystemsforlargescalephotovoltaic(solarfarm)projectsacrossAustralia.

n

Youwillberesponsibleforensuringthesafe,reliable,andefficientoperationofhigh-voltage(HV)gridconnections,integratingsolargenerationassetsintothenationalelectricitynetwork.Yourworkwillinvolveprotectionschemedesign,relaysettingsandconfiguration,coordinationstudies,andsupportingcommissioningactivitiesonsite.

You'll report to the Head of substation.

Your main responsibilities:

- DesignHVprotectionschemesforgrid-tiedsolarfarms(e.g.,primaryandbackupprotection,faultdetection,islandingprotection).
n
- Performcoordinationandselectivitystudiesforprotectionsettings.
n




- SupportFactoryAcceptanceTesting(FAT),SiteAcceptanceTesting(SAT),andcommissioning.
n
- Reviewandvalidategridcompliancestudies(includingR1/R2submissionsforAEMO).
n
- Troubleshootandresolveprotection-relatedissuesduringconstructionandoperationphases.
n
- EnsurealignmentwithAustraliangridcodesandnetworkoperatorstandards.
n
- LiaisewithNSPsandAEMOduringtheconnectionapprovalprocess.

The profile we're looking for

n

n
- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field
n
- 3–5 years of experience in Protection & Control engineering,
n
- Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, and performance management processes.
n
- StrongunderstandingofHVsystems(33kV,66kV,132kVandabove)andprotectionprinciples.
n
- Experiencewithrelayconfigurationtools(e.g.,DIGSI,SELAcSELerator,PCM600).
n
- FamiliaritywithAustraliangridconnectionprocessesandstandards.
n
- Excellentproblem-solvingskillsandabilitytoworkindependentlyandinmultidisciplinaryteams
